Hey there! Well July was a bad month for me health wise... but I refuse to whine about it. I will just say I hope August is a better month for me in health and wellness matters! I also know several of my friends went through some pretty intense medical issues as well and to them I wish them speedy recovery vibes and hope they are all feeling better very soon!
I have once again taken loads of pictures of my Parrot and you can see those in my pet gallery here. She has been quite the little hellion this month with hormones! Basically she is transitioning from a baby to an adult (puberty) and her little body is flooded with hormones which make her down right cranky. I am working with her to try and make her days slightly less so - to keep us BOTH sane. Some days are good, some end in tears of frustration but I love her dearly. She is also molting right now (( this is a process all birds go through once or twice a year - where they shed some of their old feathers and replace them with new )). She has loads and loads of pin feathers (new feathers that poke through like pins, covered in a sheath that later gets shed) on her face and head which is why she looks a bit scruffy in her recent photos - this also contributes to her grouch factor so hopefully she is nearly through her molt! The first molt takes forever and so far she has been doing this for 2 months... I hope for both our sakes the end is near LOL I haven't added any new videos to youtube this month due to her being so grouchy.
The Canadian blood bank is badly in need of donors so PLEASE get out there and donate this week! You can find more information about how to find YOUR local blood bank at the end of this news post :) Please - think about it. I know some of you are scared of donating but it really doesn't take long and it isn't worse than going and having blood drawn. It just seems more scary due to how much they draw - but they make sure you are comfortable and before you leave you get juice and or cookies and they make sure you are ok. It is one of the easiest ways to be a hero and save lives.
The weather here has been nuts - lots and lots of storms... which of course only dump more humidity in the air rather than cooling shit down. Which naturally leads to tornadoes. Almost every night here has ended in a storm. Boo!
I find myself hating the neighbors bratty fucking kids more and more each day too. Constantly being rude and doing shit to my house (like pushing in my screens etc which is bad because my parrot IS out of her cage at times.) I give them shit, a lot... but it never changes anything. My dislike of children is reinforced more and more each day thanks to them. I think when I am old and gray I will be the crazy old lady on the block that all the kids fear ;) I will chase them with my broom or something. lol
My mom moved mid July into a new place (( about the same distance from me )) and is now loser free (( aka her "bf" )). She is pretty happy to be rid of him and I don't blame her, he was the biggest waste of sperm on earth lol I hope this time she stays single for a good long time! She has a track record for picking the biggest losers on earth to date. Maybe she needs an intervention? ;)
I have a flying ant problem too this year which I never had before... not sure how to get rid of them other than smooshing them when I see them as I cannot use poisons now that the birdie lives here. I guess it is quite entertaining for my bird to watch me cane thrashing all the dumb bugs... she looks at me like I am nuts. The first few times it scared her but now she knows when I am on a bug killing mission and she just watches lol Maybe I should turn her into a bug killin machine ;) If anyone knows of a poison free way to kill the fuckers - please let me know!
My webcam is back online permanently *for those of you who missed the grand re-opening lol* it is aimed at my parrot. If you can not see her it just means she is somewhere in the cage out of view - it is a big cage! The re-launch of the cam has been a great success, thanks to all who have peeked in on her! I hope you enjoy her antics as much as I do.
I would also like to remind you that I have TWO blogs. My game blog here (where I review games and such but is not as active as my normal blog ) and my normal blog here (where I blog about anything and everything that is not game related). I blog in the normal blog all month between updates and the game blog when whim hits (though I do have some quiet spells now and then) - so be sure to check them out often :) Also please feel free to comment IN my blog comment area (rather than comment via email) - I know many of you are not yet used to my new blog system - you do NOT need an account to comment :) Give it a try! It will not post immediately - I need to approve your comment before it will show up.
Last but not least (as always) please give blood you can save so many lives and it doesn't hurt or take much time. You can find a blood bank near you through the links below.
