Merry Christmas! (Ok a day or two late, so sue me?) and HAPPY NEW YEAR! Have you all enjoyed the holiday season? Have you brought in the new year with Joy and Hope in your hearts? May 2010 be a great year! Many of us have struggled greatly with the 3 biggies (Finance, Health and Death) and I for one have high hopes for 2010! It HAS to be awesome and I am going to do my best to make that come true! I am as always writing this out a couple of days before the 1st of the month and as such have no news regarding how I spent my New Years/Birthday celebrating - check back in February's update time slot for that! As it stands here and now (December 28th) I have plans and will not be alone this year! Yay!
Christmas was a breeze that blew through faster than I could blink but it was not too bad. I did have my usual seasonal (holiday) blues but once my Mom and Son came over to visit and do gifts I cheered up... Hard not to get swept up in the excitement and joy of others! It was a modest Christmas this year gift wise - we are feeling the financial crunch let me tell you! After the gifts (We gave my son a new DS as his old one was broken and a game for it (Lego Indiana Jones 2 ) as well as some undies and socks and trinkets which you can see a few pictures of them opening goodies here - we enjoyed a Christmas meal of bacon cheese burgers ;) Ok so we don't do things very traditionally in my home but we all enjoyed it so fuck the traditional!
Mom enjoyed (so she says?) the 3 paintings I made for her as her gifts this year! I hope she was telling the truth ;) but if not - I hope she at least thinks of me every time she passes them and grumbles about how ugly they are ;) it is a set of 3 which go together you can see here but this photo was taken before I matted and framed them - sorry for the "raw" state of them. Mom also got a sweater and library card renewal which she loved.
In other (non Christmas) news - the weather was sure cold in December! Brrr! I hope you all made it through the various winter storms that rode across most of the world. Thankfully I have a really awesome neighbor who takes the time to shovel the snow off of my wheelchair ramp for me :) I was even blocked in during a major storm due to snow drifts being so high! The kindness of neighbors goes a long way!
My camera and laptop are both knocking on deaths door so I am currently trying to save money to replace them. First and foremost will be the laptop replacement - I will be lost without a computer! The camera is important but if it has to wait a few months so be it - justjayde.com just won't have photo updates as much ;)
I would also like to remind you that I have two blogs - My game blog (where I review games and such ) and my normal blog here (where I blog about anything and everything that is not game related). I blog in both all month between updates (though I do have some quiet spells now and then) - so be sure to check them out often :) Also please feel free to comment - I know many of you are not yet used to my new blog system - you do NOT need an account to comment :) Give it a try!
Last but not least (as always) please give blood you can save so many lives and it doesn't hurt or take much time. You can find a blood bank near you through the links below.
