I guess most people like to hear the bad news before the good so they end on a positive note - so going in that direction I will spill the bad news about April first to get it out of the way! I am currently writing this laying in bed. I am back on bed rest! No, not for a year like last time! I have a pressure sore on my caboose and as such cannot sit on it, so I am stuck in bed laying on my side while it heals! Needless to say my body is pretty sore not only from the pressure sore but from laying down non stop for weeks on end! I also have no entertainment in my bedroom as when I moved in I did not get permission from management to put a cable jack in my bedroom! (( it was on the to do list )) and wouldn'tcha know it here I am with no TV! Luckily I can use my laptop in my bedroom or I would be crying like a baby! I have been watching my dvd's and surfing forums mostly! I sure miss my TV and Xbox though!
I also am having problems with a medication my doctor has put me on - in that it makes me violently ill... I guess good timing that it happened when I am on bed rest, but it still sucks. Needless to say I am weaning myself off of them but it will take about 6 weeks. I will not be trying any other medication to replace it, I weighed the risks versus the benefits and have decided that medication for pain is just not worth the hassle, risks, sickness or addiction issues... I will go back to getting through the way I have for the last 2 years.
Good news... well after my beautiful budgie PPMBB passed away so suddenly :( I decided I could not POSSIBLY get another to replace him and instead spoke to my friend/breeder about adopting another sort of parakeet known as a Linnie (Lineolated parakeet). They are a very sweet, quiet bird - and rumor has it they are quite calm. I have only met MY bird twice so far thanks to the bed rest but I have to tell you s/he is a little love! S/He coos and makes the sweetest little sounds, and his/her loud noise sounds like a ray gun! How cute is that?! You can see a few pictures of him/her here. The photos are fairly low quality compared to my usual but the best I can get my grubby hands on for now - they still show how adorable S/He is. (( I do not know if the bird is male or female so will most likely end up calling it a he by default when I speak about him/her... it is impossible to tell if it is male or female without having it DNA sexed (( which feels so mean to me because it means ripping out blood feathers or clipping a nail too short, both of which hurt the little bird...)). S/He should be moving in with me by the time I get my stupid ass off this stupid bed!
In that same breath I would like to mention to any who are local to me and looking for a pair of lovely Cockatiels, that my friend/breeder has a pair she needs to find a home for... she can not take them in because she has no spare room and the people who own them now are unable to continue to do so. If you have any interest please drop me an email and I will set you up with a phone number or email address and we can go from there! :D
I like to have more good news than bad but I really haven't got much news of ANY kind! I guess being stuck in bed does that! I also apologize for the lack of blog entries in both of my blogs! It is appalling I know! Once I am out of bed hopefully I will be back to my normal outspoken self :D Hang in there with me once again please!
I would also like to remind you that I have two blogs -Though I did not blog much this month- My game blog here (where I review games and such ) and my normal blog here (where I blog about anything and everything that is not game related). I blog in both all month between updates (though I do have some quiet spells now and then) - so be sure to check them out often :) Also please feel free to comment - I know many of you are not yet used to my new blog system - you do NOT need an account to comment :) Give it a try! It will not post immediately - I need to approve your comment before it will show up.
Last but not least (as always) please give blood you can save so many lives and it doesn't hurt or take much time. You can find a blood bank near you through the links below.
